Lead is a highly toxic metal that may cause a vast array of health problems, especially in young children.

Lead contamination can potentially be found both inside and outside of the residence. Some common sources of lead contamination include:

Interior Sources – Window sills, stair railings, door frames, paint chips, high traffic/impact areas with lead based paint.

Exterior Sources – Soil (contaminated from deteriorated paint), deteriorated exterior paint, window’s, porch railings.

When lead is absorbed into the body it can cause damage to vital organs including the brain, kidneys, nerves and blood.

In some cases of lead poisoning no symptoms are present however some symptoms might include headaches, stomachaches, nausea, tiredness and irritability. Lead poisoning may also cause behavioral problems, learning disabilities, seizures and in extreme cases, death
